Why should you be stretched out after your work out?

Stretching must be a fundamental part of our routine, because it has great benefits for the body. Stretching out after your workout improves the gains of your hard work and prevents injury and is guaranteed to sculpt a long, lean you.

Every action has a yin & yang, equal and opposite reaction, this is not only true for physics but also for the physical you.  We spend a lot of time in the gym contracting those muscles making them grow, but do many of us spend enough time to stretch them out?

Stretching is important to keep those joints mobile, your muscles balanced and your body agile, as we shorten the muscles through our weight training we will limit our mobility which in turn limits the ability for us to develop stronger, leaner muscles. So if your lats are tight, your shoulder joints won’t be able to move through their full range of motion, which in turn will effect most of the upper body moves, not giving you the overall results you want.

When we exercise our body releases lactic acid through the muscles. This is crystallized and creates rigid fibers. It is important to stretch to put an end to this rigidity and prevent future injury.

So make sure you always give yourself enough time at the beginning and the end of your workout to s-t-r-e-t-c-h!
